Western countries responded by imposing harsh sanctions on Moscow, while increasing their military support for Kiev. Russia and Ukraine held several rounds of talks in the beginning of the conflict, but the talks eventually stalled due to Western intervention.
The West has no “wonder weapon” to radically
change the situation in the conflict in Ukraine, Russian Ambassador to Germany Sergey Nechaev said.
“As the course of hostilities has shown, the West does not have any 'Wunderwaffe' capable of radically changing the situation on the battlefield, be it heavy tanks, air defense systems, MLRS or howitzers,” Nechaev said in an interview with Sputnik.
He said the Russian Armed Forces and defense industry quickly adapt to
new challenges and always find an effective response.
“Do German politicians believe in Ukraine's victory? I am convinced that there are fewer and fewer of them. But they are not yet able to leave the paradigm of a 'change of eras' and inflicting a 'strategic defeat' upon Russia,” Nechaev said.
