MOSCOW (Sputnik) - The North Korean Malligyong-1 military reconnaissance satellite took photos of several major US military facilities, including the Pentagon and naval base in Norfolk, as well as the White House, North Korea’s state-run news agency KCNA reported on Tuesday.
North Korean leader Kim Jong Un also received satellite photos of Andersen Air Force Base on the island of Guam in the Pacific Ocean, an airfield in Virginia and the Newport News shipyard, the report said, adding that four US and one British aircraft carriers were spotted at the Norfolk base.
In addition, the satellite took photographs of Rome, the news agency reported.

Last week, North Korea successfully carried out the previously announced launch of its Malligyong-1 satellite and announced plans to launch several more satellites in a "short span of time."
On Tuesday, a US Defense Department spokesperson said that the Pentagon could not confirm the accuracy of North Korea’s claims.
