WASHINGTON (Sputnik) - In early November, White House National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby revealed that nearly 96% of funds allocated for Ukraine since the start of the conflict were burned through by the United States, as well as over 90% of security assistance replenishment funds.
The newly announced
aid package for Ukraine includes another High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) and ammunition, as well as tow missiles and Javelins, the Defense Department revealed in a press release on Monday.
"This announcement is the Biden Administration's fifty-first tranche of equipment to be provided from DoD [Department of Defense] inventories for Ukraine since August 2021," the release said, adding: "The capabilities in this package, valued at up to $100 million, include: Stinger anti-aircraft missiles; One High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) and additional ammunition; 155mm and 105mm artillery rounds; Tube-Launched, Optically-Tracked, Wire-Guided (TOW) missiles; Javelin and AT-4 anti-armor systems."
