The Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM) said that, together with Moscow's diplomats in Palestine, it had organized the evacuation of Russian citizens from Gaza. According to the ministry, the citizens are passing through the Rafah crossing on the Gaza-Egypt border.
Russia has thanked the Egyptian authorities for their assistance in the evacuation of its nationals from the Gaza Strip against the backdrop of the Israeli-Palestinian aggravation, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
According to the statement, the gratitude was expressed during the meeting of the special representative of the Russian president for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov, and the Egyptian Ambassador to Moscow Nazeh el Nagari on November 18.
"During the conversation, the main attention was paid to the development of the situation in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict zone, with an emphasis on humanitarian aspects in the Gaza Strip. At the same time, the Russian side expressed gratitude to the Egyptian authorities for their assistance in carrying out evacuation measures to remove Russian citizens from the conflict zone," the ministry said.

In addition, the Foreign Ministry noted that some pressing issues concerning the reinforcement of the Russian-Egyptian strategic partnership, including the schedule of upcoming contacts, were discussed.
On November 12, Russia's EMERCOM revealed that, in cooperation with the Russian diplomats in Palestine, it had arranged the evacuation of the Russian nationals from the Gaza Strip, who are now passing through the Rafah crossing on the Gaza-Egypt border.
So far, three groups of Russian nationals were transported from Egypt to Russia, the emergency ministry said.
