TUNIS (Sputnik) - The death toll in the Gaza Strip from the Israeli attacks reached 12,000, including 5,000 children, the press office of the authorities of the enclave said on Friday.
The number of missing persons in the Palestinian enclave, reached more than 3,750 people, the office said.
"The death toll in Gaza has reached 12,000 people, including 5,000 children," the statement said.
On October 7, the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas launched a surprise large-scale rocket attack on Israel from the Gaza Strip, breaching the border and killing and taking captives in nearby Israeli military sites and communities. The movement said its operation, Al-Aqsa Flood, was in response to Israeli provocations and occupation of Palestinian territories.
Israel launched retaliatory strikes and ordered a complete blockade of the Gaza Strip, home to more than 2 million people, cutting off supplies of water, food and fuel. On October 27, Israel launched a large-scale ground incursion into Gaza, ostensibly to eliminate Hamas fighters and free Israeli captives.

Over 1,000 Pro-Palestinian Protesters Rally in Warsaw Against Israel's Actions in Gaza
WARSAW (Sputnik) - Over 1,000 protesters took to the streets of the Polish capital on Saturday to demand an end to the fighting in the Gaza Strip, a RIA Novosti correspondent reported.
Pro-Palestinian demonstrators — many of them of Arab descent but also left-wing Polish activists — gathered at the Savior Square in central Warsaw to march to the Israeli Embassy, just a few blocks away.
Many protesters spotted black-and-white checkered keffiyeh scarves. They carried Palestinian flags, anti-Israel placards and banners that read "From the river to the sea Palestine will be free," "Free Palestine," and "Stop the Israeli war crimes."
Warsaw Mayor Rafal Trzaskowski initially banned the demonstration on security grounds, but a local court reversed the city administration's decision. There was heavy police presence at the march.
Multiple protests against Israel's actions in Gaza and demonstrations in support of Palestine have recently taken place around the world, including in the European Union, the United Kingdom and the United States.

Turkey's Erdogan Says Enough Proof Exists to Prosecute Israel at ICC
ANKARA (Sputnik) - Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Saturday that there was enough proof of Israeli atrocities to take Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government to the International Criminal Court in The Hague.
"There is enough evidence that allows for the prosecution of the Israeli administration by the International Criminal Court," Erdogan told reporters upon his return from Berlin.
He said Netanyahu was at the end of his political career and that Israel would soon rid itself of the far-right politician who was "forcing his country and the whole world to pay a high price."
"Now everyone is funneling weapons and money to him, but this situation is making the countries that support him pay," the Turkish president said, referring to the Israeli-Hamas war in the Gaza Strip.
Erdogan added that if a Muslim country committed "the like of war crimes committed by Israel," there would be no need to push for international legal protection and the process would have been officially initiated.
Erdogan’s Justice and Development Party said last week it had filed a lawsuit against Netanyahu with the ICC on accusations that he had committed "genocide" and other crimes against humanity in Gaza.

Turkey Begins Creation of Mechanism to Verify Israel's Nuclear Weapons Before It Is Too Late - Erdogan
ANKARA (Sputnik) - Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Saturday that his government would push for an international investigation into Israel’s possible nuclear weapons capabilities in light of its threats against Gaza.
Israeli Heritage Minister Amichai Eliyahu was suspended earlier in November after suggesting that dropping a nuclear bomb on the Gaza Strip was a "viable option."
"Israel is not part of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and therefore it is not bound by its rules. But there is an option where member states can ask the International Atomic Energy Agency to create an inspection mechanism for the sake of nuclear security. We will mobilize this work right now," Erdogan said on a flight home from Berlin.

Israel, Hamas in Talks With Support From US in Qatar, Reached Tentative Deal - Hersh
WASHINGTON (Sputnik) - Israeli and Hamas officials are in the middle of negotiations in Qatar with support from the United States, US investigative journalist Seymour Hersh said citing sources.
"Talks between the Hamas leadership and Israel, with support from the United States, are now going on in Qatar," Hersh said in his column published on Substack on Friday. "The American team includes CIA Director William Burns, President [Joe] Biden’s most experienced foreign policy aide."
According to Hersh, a tentative agreement was reached days ago between Israel and Hamas.
Under the tentative agreement, Hamas agreed to release 50 women and elderly hostages in return for the release of hundreds of women and teenage girls of Hamas families who are now in Israeli jails, Hersh added.
The United States insists that family members be released together from captivity, Hersh said, adding that as a result of this demand Washington is calling for the release of 71 hostages held by Hamas.
Hamas reportedly agreed to the US demand.
However, Hamas insisted on a five-day halt to the war, which was immediately rejected by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Hersh reported.
