MOSCOW (Sputnik) - The company said last week that Rosoboronexport is actively developing cooperation with Africa, with 43 countries on the continent already partners.
The total cost of licensed production of weapons and military equipment with African countries exceeds 50 billion rubles ($554.2 million), Russian defense export company Rosoboronexport Director General Alexander Mikheev said on Wednesday.

"Now we are designing a number of projects related to licensed production of small arms and munitions, as well as automotive armor and fast warships within our industrial cooperation with African countries. The total cost of such projects exceeds 50 billion rubles," Mikheev said at the 2023 Dubai Airshow exhibition.

He added Russia and African countries were planning to launch joint projects as part of production and maintenance of armored vehicles, aircraft equipment and small arms.
Mikheev said that African countries were seeking cooperation to enhance their military capacities, and Rosoboronexport was ready to assist with that on mutually agreed conditions.
