The Times of Israel reported Thursday citing the national medical emergency service MDA that six people had been hospitalized in Eilat after the explosion of a drone at a local school.On October 7, Palestinian group Hamas launched a surprise attack against Israel from Gaza. The next day, Israel launched a retaliatory military campaign with the goal of eliminating Hamas and imposed a complete blockade on Gaza, home to some 2 million Palestinians and cutting off supplies of water, food, and fuel. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said it had struck Syria in response to a drone launch to the city of Eilat in southern Israel.
"The IDF struck in Syria in response to the launch of a UAV [unmanned aerial vehicle] to Eilat," the IDF said on Telegram.
The Israeli army said it would respond to any
aggression.
"A short while ago, the IDF struck the organization in Syria that carried out the launch of a UAV toward Eilat yesterday (Thursday), which hit a school in the city. The IDF holds the Syrian regime fully responsible for every terror activity emanating from its territory. The IDF will respond severely to every aggression against Israeli territory," it said.
