MOSCOW (Sputnik) – In early October, Israel was attacked from the Gaza Strip, with troops from the Hamas movement infiltrating the border areas. On October 8, the Israeli government declared a state of war. Israel later announced a total blockade of Gaza, cutting off water, food, electricity, medicine and fuel.
The second convoy of 17 trucks with humanitarian aid has begun arriving in the Gaza Strip through the Rafah checkpoint on the border with Egypt, the Al-Qahera News broadcaster reported on Sunday.
The first trucks with humanitarian aid started entering the Gaza Strip through the border crossing on Saturday.
A Sputnik correspondent reported earlier this week that about 200 trucks with humanitarian aid for the Gaza Strip were stranded on the border with Egypt.

First Humanitarian Aid Trucks for Gaza Pass Through Rafah Crossing in Egypt
On October 7, Palestinian group Hamas launched a surprise large-scale rocket attack against Israel from the Gaza Strip and breached the border. Israel launched retaliatory strikes and ordered a complete blockade of the Gaza Strip, home to more than 2 million people, cutting off supplies of water, food and fuel. The escalation of the conflict has resulted in thousands of people killed and injured on both sides.
