A special aircraft of the Russian Emergencies Ministry has delivered to Egypt 27 tons of humanitarian aid for the population of the Gaza Strip in Palestine amid ongoing escalation of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.The humanitarian cargo has already been handed over to representatives of the Egyptian Red Crescent Society, the ministry said on Thursday.The Egyptian Red Crescent Society is expected to deliver the Russian aid to the population of the Gaza Strip through the Rafah crossing, which connects the Strip to Egypt by land.Earlier in the day, the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that its transport aircraft IL-76 flying from Moscow Region to the airport of El-Arish (Egypt) will deliver 27 tons of humanitarian cargo.The recent escalation of violence in the Palestinian-Israeli region, triggered by Hamas on October 7 in response to Israeli provocations, has resulted in thousands of deaths and injuries on both the Palestinian and Israeli sides. In response, Israel declared a state of war the following day and launched retaliatory strikes against the Gaza Strip. Israel later ordered a complete blockade of the Strip, cutting off supplies of water, food, medicine and fuel to the region's two million people and ordering them to leave.As of Thursday afternoon, more than 3.5 thousand people have been killed in Israel's strikes on Gaza, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry. The Israeli side reported more than a thousand deaths since October 7.

After the Palestinian Hamas movement launched its latest attack on Israel on October 7. The Israeli government later announced that it had invoked Article 40 of the Basic Law, which means that the country is officially in a state of war, and launched a large-scale operation in response.
A special aircraft of the Russian Emergencies Ministry has delivered to Egypt 27 tons of
humanitarian aid for the population of the Gaza Strip in Palestine amid ongoing escalation of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
The humanitarian cargo has already been handed over to representatives of the Egyptian Red Crescent Society, the ministry said on Thursday.
"The humanitarian cargo, which includes flour, sugar, rice and pasta, was handed over to representatives of the Egyptian Red Crescent Society," the agency's interlocutor said.
The Egyptian Red Crescent Society is expected to deliver the Russian aid to the population of the Gaza Strip through the Rafah crossing, which connects the Strip to Egypt by land.
