As part of the national team of Ghana, the footballer also won three African Cup of Nations medals: two silver and bronze.

In the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations, Gyan scored three of the four goals by the national team at the tournament. Ghana finished second there, losing to Egypt in the final.

Gyan's last club was Ghana's Legon Cities, for whom he played his last game in May 2021.
