MOSCOW (Sputnik) - On Thursday, a US congressional commission issued a report saying that the United States was ill-prepared for such risks as the conflict with Russia and China.
The recommendations of the US Congress to prepare for a simultaneous war with Russia and China, which are also nuclear powers, cannot be called healthy thoughts, it is nonsense, most likely, the congressmen are just scaring each other, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.

"I don't think people in their right mind should or can think that thought. But if they do, it only makes us wary. And even more so, to go to war with both Russia and China at once. Nonsense, of course. I don't think it's serious. They are just scaring each other, I think," Putin told the Russian media.

The Russian president added that the United States is forcing its allies to worsen relations with Russia and China, but Europe does not want the deterioration of relations with Beijing, while Moscow is not trying to create a military alliance with China.
"We have already said many times: we are not uniting into some kind of military alliance, while the Americans are doing just that. Moreover, they are forcing their allies to worsen relations with Russia and China," Putin noted.

The head of state pointed out that Europe's trade with China is constantly growing, even more than Russia's trade with China.

"The Europeans do not want to jeopardize their relations with China, but they are being pushed to do so by the Americans," the Russian president concluded.
