The broadcaster also cited emails sent by the State Department's Consular Affairs Crisis Management System to some Palestinian-Americans with family members stuck in Gaza, saying that they may be able to evacuate into Egypt in the afternoon on October 14. Another outlet also reported, citing an unnamed US official, that Israel and Egypt agreed to allow US citizens to cross the Rafah border crossing on Saturday. According to the report, the Rafah border crossing would be open from 12 pm to 5 pm local time (09:00 - 14:00 GMT).On October 7, Palestinian movement Hamas launched a surprise large-scale rocket attack against Israel from the Gaza Strip, prompting Israel to declare a state of war the following day and launch retaliatory strikes. On October 9, Israel ordered a complete blockade of the Gaza Strip, cutting off supplies of water, food and fuel. Both Israel and Palestine have reported over 1,000 deaths and thousands of injured as a result of the escalation.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) - Following the aggravation of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, Israel ordered on October 9 a complete blockade of the Gaza Strip, home to more than 2 million people, cutting off supplies of water, food and fuel.
The Rafah border crossing between Egypt and the Gaza Strip is likely to be opened on October 14 for
evacuations, media reported, citing US State Department spokesperson and emails.
"We are working with our Israeli and Egyptian partners to establish a safe humanitarian corridor both for Gazans trying to flee this war and to ensure humanitarian assistance reaches those in need within the territory," a State Department spokesperson told the media.
