Starlink is an internet satellite system that has coverage in over 60 countries worldwide. It was launched in 2019 by the American aerospace company Space X, founded by Elon Musk in 2002.
US tech billionaire Elon Musk said that Zambia now has access to the Starlink satellite network.

"Starlink is now available in Zambia," Musk wrote on his X (formerly known as Twitter) account on Monday.

SpaceX had previously announced together with pan-African technology company Jumia that it would expand Starlink's internet network to many African countries.

Zambia became the sixth country in Africa to gain access to this innovative technology. Starlink is only available in certain areas in Zambia, but there are plans to expand its coverage in the coming months. To use the Starlink service in other African countries, users must pay ZMW1,000 ($47) per month for regional roaming.
Starlink was launched in Nigeria, Kenya, Mozambique, Rwanda, and Malawi in 2023. Before the end of the year, it is scheduled to be launched in Angola and Eswatini.
