12:10 09.10.2023 (Updated: 16:52 09.10.2023) MOSCOW (Sputnik) – On Saturday, a new phase of escalation of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict began, with the militant group Hamas launching massive artillery and ground attacks on Israel from the Gaza Strip.
Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said on Monday that he had ordered a complete blockade of the Palestinian exclave of the Gaza Strip, adding that there will be no more supplies of food, gas and energy.
"I ordered a complete blockade of the Gaza Strip. [There will be] no electricity, no food, no gas, everything is closed," Gallant said in an address, as broadcast by national media.
