Burkina Faso and Iran signed on Saturday a memorandum of understanding (MoU) and eight cooperation documents in various fields, including economy, construction and exports, Iranian news agency Tasnim reported.In particular, the sides reportedly agreed on cooperation in the fields of labor and social support, employment and business development, education, scientific, technical and vocational training in the pharmaceutical, energy and mining fields, ecology and natural resources, as well as technology, urban planning and construction.The agreements were concluded at the meeting of the first Joint Economic Commission of Iran and Burkina Faso in the capital of the African country, Ouagadougou, the outlet noted. The Iranian delegation was headed by the country's Minister of Cooperatives, Labour and Social Welfare, Seyed Sowlat Mortazavi, the media revealed.Mortazavi expressed hope that exchange of these documents will facilitate reinforcement of the partnership between the two states, including in the fields of pharmaceutical, technology and engineering, according to the news agency.Earlier, on September 5, enhancing of economic cooperation between the two countries was discussed by the Iranian leader and the Burkinabe foreign minister.Apart from economic issues, the states also held talks in August regarding political and military stability in West Africa. Iranian Ambassador to Burkina Faso Mojtaba Faghihi reportedly exchanged views on the matter with Rouamba in Ouagadougou.
