MOSCOW (Sputnik) - Last week, Vladimir Tsimlyansky, a spokesperson for the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces' Main Organizational and Mobilization Directorate, confirmed that there are enough people willing to serve under a contract, as well as volunteers, to fulfill the tasks of the Russian special military operation in Ukraine.
More than 335,000 people have joined the Russian Armed Forces under military contracts and as volunteers since the start of the year, with more than 50,000 people having signed contracts in September alone, Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu said on Tuesday.
"Since the beginning of the year, more than 335,000 people have signed up for military service under contracts and in volunteer units. In September alone, more than 50,000 citizens signed a contract," Shoigu told military officials.
The minister went on to say that the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces does not plan to launch additional mobilization, there are enough military personnel in the army to conduct the special operation.
"The General Staff has no plans for additional mobilization. The armed forces have the necessary number of military personnel to conduct the special military operation," Shoigu said at a meeting with the leadership of the Russian armed forces.
According to the minister, the autumn conscription is taking place as planned and within the time limits established by law. He added that 130,000 people will be enlisted in the army. Shoigu emphasized that all conscripts, including those from new regions, will not be deployed to the combat zone.

The minister highlighted that over 98% of injured Russian soldiers receive timely assistance on the battlefield and are discharged from hospitals after full recovery.

"Thanks to timely medical assistance, prompt evacuation, and advanced medical technology, over 98% of the wounded are discharged with complete recovery. Mortality rates within hospitals are currently at 0.43% and continue to decrease," Shoigu said.

The defense minister emphasized the exemplary professionalism and courage of military physicians performing unique medical operations, saving the lives and safeguarding the well-being of Russian military personnel.
