This February, Germany officially announced the delivery of Leopard tanks to Ukraine, eight of which were hit by the Russian armed forces in June at the start of Ukraine's counteroffensive.
Russian armed forces have destroyed two Leopard tanks, an ammunition depot and up to 20 Ukrainian servicemen in the Kharkov region, the Russian Defense Ministry has said.
"In the Kupyansk direction, units of the "Western" group of troops, supported by aviation and artillery fire, defeated the enemy in the areas of the settlements of Artemovka in the Lugansk People's Republic, Sinkovka, Berestovoye and Ivanovka in the Kharkov region. The losses of the Ukrainian armed forces amounted to up to 20 Ukrainian servicemen, two Leopard tanks manufactured in Germany and three vehicles," the statement said.
In addition, an ammunition depot of the 113th Territorial Defense Brigade near Liptsov, Kharkov region, was destroyed over the day.
Also during counter-battery combat, a Polish-made Krab self-propelled artillery unit, a German-made Panzerhaubitze 2000 self-propelled howitzer, two Msta-B howitzers, a D-30 gun and a Rapira anti-tank gun were hit.
