Emmerson Mnangagwa, who has been re-elected as president of Zimbabwe, was sworn in to office in Harare's national stadium in front of the countries chief justice Luke Malaba on Monday, local media reported.The president took the oath to uphold the constitution and serve the Zimbabwean people. According to local media, as Mnangagwa was officially sworn in, the event had a festive element with music playing and the president doing his "victory dance."Later, the National Anthem was performed at the stadium, the military gave the salute and the country's Air Force flew past the spectators. The president also watched the parade on the occasion of his own inauguration.During the inauguration event, the president addressed Zimbabweans and showed gratitude for maintaining national unity and peace during the elections.Furthermore, the head of state pointed out that the country should focus about the sanctions and move forward the accomplishment of Vision 2030 agenda.Mnangagwa highlighted the country's sovereignty and the "friendly" international role that the East African country plays.Within the action plan to follow in his new presidential term, the re-elected president mentioned the improvement of health and education, according to local media, "resources will to be availed to capacitate schools and clinics."Some global leaders attended the event, including China's Vice-President Han Zheng, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, Mozambican President Filipe Nyusi, Belarus' Deputy Prime Minister Anatoly Sivak and Rwanda's Senate President Francois-Xavier Kalinda. On 27 August, the governing Zimbabwe African National Union-Patriotic Front party was re-elected for a second term according to results of the country's presidential election, Zimbabwean media reported on Sunday, citing the electoral commission.Mnangagwa received 52.6 percent of the votes, and his main opponent, Nelson Chamisa, leader of the opposition Citizens Coalition for Change party, gained 44 percent, according to the ZEC.Mnangagwa, who won the vote for the first time in the summer of 2018, said earlier that he would once again achieve the same results.As well as Mnangagwa, there were 10 other contenders in the presidential race.

On 27 August, the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) announced that incumbent President Emmerson Mnangagwa - whose first term as president began in 2018 - had been re-elected.
Emmerson Mnangagwa, who has been re-elected as president of Zimbabwe, was sworn in to office in Harare's national stadium in front of the countries chief justice Luke Malaba on Monday, local media reported.

"As Zimbabwe, we have demonstrated that we are a mature democracy," he stated as cited by local media.
Furthermore, the head of state pointed out that the country should focus about the sanctions and move forward the accomplishment of

"My new Government will deliver on the promises we made to you," he said.
Mnangagwa highlighted the country's sovereignty and the "friendly" international role that the East African country plays.
"Zimbabwe is a sovereign state, a friend to all and enemy to none and a member of regional and international organizations voluntarily. He says the country will never accept the undermining of the country's institutions through whatever guise," he noted.
