The Second Russia-Africa Summit scheduled for July 27-28 is going to take place in Russia's Saint Petersburg. The summit's goal is to support initiatives aimed at boosting comprehensive and equitable cooperation between Russia and African countries.
Abdel Fattah Al Burhan, the head of the Sudanese Transitional Sovereign Council, plans to attend the second RussiaAfrica Summit in late July, Malik Agar, the council’s deputy chairman, said on Friday.
"The head of our Transitional Sovereign Council, Mr. Abdel Fattah Al Burhan is planning to attend the forum," Agar said at a press conference at the Rossiya Segodnya international multimedia press center in Moscow.
On Thursday Agar arrived in Moscow to meet with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
During the meeting, the Sudanese delegation has asked for Moscow’s assistance in resolving the domestic conflict in the North African country.

Deputy Head of Sudan Transitional Sovereignty Council Malik Agar Meets With Russian FM
"We asked for Russia's help in ending the Sudanese war. We also briefed the Russian foreign minister on the roadmap for resolving the Sudanese crisis," Agar said at a press conference at the Rossiya Segodnya international multimedia press center.
The Sudanese official also noted that the sides discussed only political issues.
"We talked about political issues, about ending the war, we did not talk about the supply of weapons and received a promise that we would receive support, humanitarian aid," Agar said.
The deputy chairman also stated that Sudan is interested in participating in such associations as BRICS.
On April 15, clashes broke out between Armed Forces of Sudan and the Sudanese Rapid Support Forces paramilitary group, with the epicenter in country's capital Khartoum.
According to United Nations' estimations, at least 958 persons were killed and 4,700 injured in the clashes, while over 2.1 million people were forced to leave their homes.
