According to a senior official in Zaporozhye, fighting continues at the front, and Ukrainian troops, including Polish mercenaries, have not stopped in their attempts to storm Russian positions.
Ukrainian troops and Polish mercenaries tried to break through the front in the direction of Zaporozhye on Sunday, but they were pushed back by Russian forces, said Vladimir Rogov, a senior official of the Zaporozhye regional administration.

"Today at about 12:00 the militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) made an attempt to break through on the Zaporozhye front in the area of the Vremevsky ledge... In addition to regular units of the AFU troops, Polish mercenaries from the Third Assault Group of the Polish Corps took part in the attack," Rogov said in a statement.

According to the official, the main hostilities took place in the direction of Novodarovka and Rovnopol, as well as in the areas south and southwest of the village of Vremevka (Neskuchnoye-Makarovka) and south of Novodarovka (Levadnoye-Priyutnoye).

"About two motorized infantry companies and more than half a dozen armored vehicles participated in the attack, including T-72 tanks, American M113 APCs, M1224 MaxxPro and HMMWV M1151A1 armored vehicles," he pointed out.
