The annual Central Banker Report Cards report, released by the journal Global Finance, which has been released annually since 1994, assigns marks to central bank governors based on their performance in a number of areas, including managing interest rates, achieving economic growth targets, and controlling inflation.
The Central Banker Report Cards ranking placed Abdellatif Jouahri, the chief executive of Morocco’s Central Bank, among the five best-performing central bank governors in Africa.
The study, carried out by Central Banker Report Cards and published in the Global Finance journal assesses the effectiveness of central bank governors from 101 nations and territories. Abdellatif Jouahri, one of just three African central bankers to be included, earned a spot amongst the best 20 worldwide central bank governors in the edition for 2022.

He has led the Moroccan Central Bank since 2003 and has been instrumental in putting into practice sound monetary policy decisions that have aided in the country's macroeconomic stability and growth in the economy, according to local media.
The report gives grades on a scale from A to F, where the grade "A" denotes exceptional performance and "F" denotes abject failure. The report assesses the effectiveness of central bank governors from 101 important nations and territories.
Other top-performing chiefs of central banks across the continent who were also acknowledged by the Central Banker Report Cards were Lesetja Kganyago of the Reserve Bank of South Africa and Harvesh Kumar Seegolam of the Bank of Mauritius.
