Over the weekend, the US mounted dozens of strikes targeting Yemen's northern and central regions under Houthi control, including the capital of Sanaa, killing more than 50 and injuring almost 100 people.
The Shia movement retaliated by attacking the US aircraft carrier Harry S. Truman and other warships in the Red Sea with missiles and drones. On Sunday night, Houthi leader Abdul Malik al-Houthi announced that all US and Israeli ships would be banned from passing through the Red and Arabian seas.

"Due to the situation in the region, the state suffers monthly losses of approximately $800 million in revenue from the Suez Canal," El-Sisi was quoted as saying by the eXtra News broadcaster on Monday.
