DOHA (Sputnik) - The Yemeni Houthis movement said on Sunday that it had attacked the US aircraft carrier Harry Truman and other warships in the Red Sea with missiles and drones in retaliation for the recent strikes on Yemen.
The leader of the Yemeni movement Ansar Allah, also known as the Houthis, Abdul Malik al-Houthi, said on Sunday that all US ships would be barred from passing through the Red and Arabian seas along with Israeli vessels if US attacks on Yemen continue.
"The US aircraft carrier and warships will be a target for us, and the decision to ban shipping will also affect the Americans as long as they continue their aggression," al-Houthi said.
The movement will respond "with escalation to escalation and respond to the adversary by striking its aircraft carriers and battleships and blockading passage to its vessels," al-Houthi added, threatening Washington with "even further escalation" should the attacks on Yemen go on.
