The Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) made significant progress in central Khartoum, backed by armored vehicles, driving the rebel Rapid Support Forces (RSF) out of several key areas of the city, SAF spokesman Nabil Abdallah said on Sunday.
According to Abdallah, among the liberated facilities are the al Mansheiya bridge, the Nile Towers, a residential and commercial tower, and the Sherwani bus station, reportedly the largest transport hub in central Khartoum.
Meanwhile, in the capital of North Darfur state, El Fasher, the army, along with joint units, police, intelligence, and special forces, conducts extensive military operations against RSF militias, the SAF said on Friday, adding that these efforts have led to the seizure of significant amounts of weapons and ammunition over the past week, as well as causing heavy losses to the rebels.
