Russia and Ethiopia signed a roadmap for the development of the countries' cooperation in the field of using nuclear technologies for peaceful purposes. It followed a meeting between the country's Minister of Economic Development, Maxim Reshetnikov, and the Ethiopian Minister of Innovation and Technology, Belete Molla.
"The document contains practical steps to assess the prospects for the development of nuclear energy in Ethiopia, as well as joint plans for the development of nuclear infrastructure and personnel training," the Russian cabinet said.
Russia and Ethiopia also decided to establish joint projects financed by a special investment fund that will be established in 2025, according to Reshetnikov.
The parties agreed to hold the next meeting of the Russian-Ethiopian intergovernmental commission on economic, scientific and technical cooperation and trade in Moscow on June 10-15, 2025, the press service of the Russian government said in a statement.
