"Traditionally, the formats for delivering information have been established here by the former colonial powers of those countries from which the countries have broken free, but the media presence has remained," Zeynalova said, adding that the need for an alternative to the Western point of view is incredible in African countries.
"Cooperation between Russia and Africa in the sphere of media should develop by leaps and bounds, because there are all the possibilities for it," Zeynalova pointed out.
"We will increase turnover in the near future. There are a lot of proposals. Yesterday, the minister of financial services came up to me and said: 'Look, even before I became minister, I was sure that we have a huge, untapped potential for relations with Russia. Let's work on that.' I said, 'Oh my God, of course!' We arranged a meeting," she said.
"I am asked all the time if it is impossible to open a Russian school in Mauritius. They tell me that they need to be taught Russian, the staff in the hotels would like to speak Russian. We are trying to organize a school here," Zeynalova said.
