Presence of US Soldiers on Russian Soil 'Very Dangerous' for Global Peace, Warns Expert

On Sunday, four foreign mercenaries attempting to infiltrate Russia's Bryansk region were eliminated by Russian forces, the Federal Security Service (FSB) announced. Items proving their foreign origin were found on the dead saboteurs, and one of them had a US military tattoo on his body, the FSB said.

Dr. Franklin Nyamsi, an African writer and president of the Bamako-based think tank African Freedom Institute, has voiced deep concern over the recent discovery of American mercenaries killed in Russia's Bryansk region, calling the presence of American troops on Russian soil "very dangerous for peace" in the world.
Nyamsi, speaking to Sputnik Africa, highlighted the historical impact of US interventions in Africa, from slavery and colonialism to neocolonialism and terrorism. He stressed that African nations should be wary of any US military presence on foreign soil.

"The presence of American soldiers on the ground is a very dangerous factor for international relations, and particularly for Africa," Nyamsi said. "Africa has been victim for many centuries of social interventions... and by many, many NATO's interventions in Africa. For Africa, an element of wisdom [is to be] against any kind of intervention of American troops in foreign duty. So for us, this is very dangerous for peace in our world."

The political analyst further highlighted the potential for escalation, noting that the presence of American troops on Russian soil, home to a nuclear arsenal, could be interpreted as a "declaration of war."
"America and Russia are two nuclear powers," Nyamsi warned. "We don't need a war between NATO or between the United States of America and Russia today, because this involves the entire destiny of humanity."
The expert also raised concerns about the timing of the incident, which occurred just before the US presidential elections. He suggested that Ukraine's Volodymyr Zelensky and his American backers may be seeking to escalate the conflict before a potential change in US leadership.
"I think, in fact, that they are running against the clock, running against time," Nyamsi said. "If Donald Trump wins the election, this means a change in the American policy against Russia in the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, and also a change in the vision of America, too... a change in the American political elite today makes a change for the multipolar world."
