The advantageous location of Tanzania offers many opportunities for the development of Russian logistics in Africa, Maksim Reshetnikov, Russian minister of economic development, said during the Tanzania – Russia Business and Investment Forum that is taking place in Tanzania's largest city and financial hub, Dar es Salaam.
"The republic could become a single entry point for our products on the African continent, continuing the development of the International North–South Transport Corridor," Reshetnikov noted.
In addition, the minister noted that Russia can contribute to Tanzanian exports to the Eurasian Economic Union market. Moreover, Reshetnikov underscored that Russia and Tanzania have great potential in the field of energy, including renewable energy, the development of peaceful nuclear technology, and mining.
According to the Russian minister, the cooperation between the two countries is also focused on agriculture, pharmaceuticals, digitalization of the economy, urban environment and tourism.
"We are ready to discuss all this. Together we will resolve issues with settlements and organizing contacts between the banks of our countries," Reshetnikov added.
