Russia is ready to increase supplies of liquefied natural gas (LNG), fertilizers and agricultural products to Tanzania, Maxim Reshetnikov, Russian minister of economic development, said during the Tanzania–Russia Business and Investment Forum.
"We traditionally import raw tobacco, coffee, tea, and fruit from Tanzania. We remain the largest supplier of wheat and fertilizers," Reshetnikov said.
The minister added that Russia considers cooperation with Tanzania in the energy field. Reshetnikov pointed out that Russian companies are ready to work in the field of hydrocarbon production, the implementation of large pipeline projects, and building wind power plants and solar generation facilities.
Earlier, Reshetnikov noted that the advantageous location of Tanzania offers many opportunities for the development of Russian logistics in Africa. In addition, the minister said that Russia can contribute to Tanzanian exports to the Eurasian Economic Union market.
