Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa has appointed a new minister of foreign affairs and international trade.
According to the Secretariat of the President and Cabinet, Zimbabwe's Foreign Ministry is now headed by Amon Murwira, who was previously the Minister of Higher and Tertiary Education, Innovation, Science, and Technology Development.
The now-former Foreign Minister Frederick Shava has taken over Murwira's former post.
The reasons for the reshuffle were not given.
In March, Sputnik Africa conducted an exclusive interview with Murwira at Atomexpo-2024 in Sirius, Russia, where he expressed that Zimbabwe's collaboration with Russia in the energy sector bolsters the African nation's resilience.
