Russia needs to be more proactive in its marketing efforts, according to Slauzy Mogami, Chairperson of the South Africa-based Leading Ladies of Africa (LLA), a non-profit dedicated to promoting women's leadership in Africa.
Speaking to Sputnik Africa on the sidelines of the 2024 International Export Forum "Made in Russia" on Monday, Mogami emphasized the inherent potential for successful collaboration between Russia and African nations.

"Russia needs to be a little bit more aggressive in terms of really the marketing, the strategy, the willingness to get in there, but so far, I must say, Russia has been doing very well in terms of putting themselves out there and for people to understand and know who and find the collaborations that are on partnership level, that are a win-win for everybody," she stated.

The businesswoman expressed her optimism regarding the growing trade ties between Russia and South Africa, highlighting the importance of fostering collaboration and understanding between the two nations.

"I think business is almost like the synergies of music or art. Once people meet, and they have common interests, they do find a way," she said. "So we are finding one another; women are finding one another; business is finding one; Africa and Russia finding one another."

Her message of encouragement was extended to Sputnik Africa, highlighting the importance of independent media outlets in disseminating information and fostering dialogue.

"It's good to see young women like yourselves braving it out there to be amongst these to make sure that the news and the information get out there," Mogami told the Sputnik Africa correspondent. "Don't lose heart. Keep up the good work."
