Mauritania's electoral commission released the data after processing ballots from more than 99.97% of the country's polling stations. According to preliminary results, Mohamed Ould Ghazouani was re-elected president of the country with 56% of the vote.
The last presidential elections in the Maghreb country took place in 2019. It was won by Ghazouani with 52% of the vote.
