Ethiopian Airlines, Africa's leading carrier, has inaugurated a brand-new domestic passenger terminal in Addis Ababa, significantly increasing its capacity and elevating the travel experience for passengers.
The $50 million project, constructed by China Communications Construction Company (CCCC), doubles the terminal's size to 25,270 square meters, providing state-of-the-art facilities.
The expansion was driven by the growing demand for domestic air travel in Ethiopia, fueled by recent tourism development.
The new terminal connects Addis Ababa to over 20 domestic destinations, facilitating national integration and economic growth.
Mesfin Tassew, CEO of Ethiopian Airlines, emphasized that the project reflects the airline's commitment to providing an international standard of domestic air transport, exceeding passenger expectations and bolstering Ethiopia's position as a global tourism destination.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by high-ranking Ethiopian government officials, Ethiopian Airlines executives, and representatives of the project contractor, signifying the importance of this milestone for the nation's aviation and tourism sectors.
