On May 28, the Russian city of St. Petersburg will host the Second African International Congress, according to the organization's press release obtained by Sputnik.
The main topics of the congress will be Russian-African business cooperation, cooperation in the humanitarian sphere, the creation of a common Russian-African information space, as well as the creation of an international network called "House of Africa."
According to the congress, the organizing committee of the event included representatives of the political elite, business communities of African countries and Russian business circles. The event is actively supported by graduates of Russian universities from African countries.
The congress will be attended by heads of diplomatic missions and trade representatives of African states, representatives of the Russian authorities, heads of African business associations, representatives of the Russian business community, members of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, scientists, and cultural and sports figures, the press release said.
The First African International Congress was held on April 5, 2023, in Moscow.
According to the decisions of the first congress, in particular, an international network of African Houses has been created, a center that will become a central Russian platform for diplomatic, business and cultural activities aimed at the development of Russian-African relations.
