Western countries utilize Africa's resources to achieve their selfish goals, while Tehran's approach to African countries is different, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi said at the opening ceremony of the second Iran-Africa summit.
According to the Iranian president, the capabilities and potential of the countries of the African continent are not inferior to those of the West and can be used in various fields.
Speaking about the need to expand cooperation between Iran and African countries, Ebrahim Raisi noted that his country has an opportunity to build an oil refinery or a power plant in Africa.
He emphasized that this requires mutual desire in developing relations and removing all obstacles.
The second Iran-Africa summit, which will last four days, kicked off on Friday in Tehran. The event is to be attended by top officials from more than 30 countries, the Iranian Foreign Ministry said.
