It is reckless to claim that the attacks on the Zaporozhye nuclear station are unrelated to the Kiev regime, but Western countries simply cannot admit the obvious, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova said.
As soon as the West realizes that the attacks on the nuclear plant were carried out by the Ukrainian armed forces, the myth they have created about Ukraine and the country's President Volodymyr Zelensky will crumble, Zakharova said on the air of her program on Sputnik radio.
"Western countries have created a monster and are now afraid to admit that the consequences may affect them. It's like they're brainwashing themselves by talking about that the dangerous incidents shouldn't happen again," she noted.
The Russian missions to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and the UN will seek an appropriate international legal response to the events at the nuclear plant, she noted.
On Tuesday, the Zaporozhye nuclear station came under attack by Ukrainian drones. As a result of the attack, the station was pretty close to an accident, the head of the IAEA Rafael Grossi said. On Monday, another Kiev's drone was shot down over the nuclear plant.
