Côte d'Ivoire's ex-President Laurent Gbagbo elected as a candidate for 2025 presidential elections from the country's party African People's Party (PPA-CI), media reported.

According to the outlet, the decision was made by the PPA-CI Central Committee and is to be endorsed by the party's congress. The date of its convening has not yet been set.
Gbagbo served as President of Côte d'Ivoire from autumn 2000 to spring 2011.
