Elections in 2024: Which Countries Are Involved?

What do Russia, Mauritius, and the tiny Pacific nation of Tuvalu have in common? The people of these countries will be voting in national elections this year!
In 2024, countries with nearly half the world's population and 54% of the world's GDP will hold elections, according to Sputnik estimates.
The largest number of elections for heads of state and members of parliament will be held in Europe, with at least 27 countries voting. The composition of the European Parliament, whose members are elected by the population of the countries of the EU, should be renewed, and in 10 European countries the head of state can be changed as a result of elections.
Among the countries scheduled to hold presidential elections are Russia, Indonesia, Mexico and the United States, which are among the top 10 most populous nations.
In Africa, 13 countries will hold presidential elections, including Algeria, Chad, Comoros, Ghana, Guinea-Bissau, Mali, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Rwanda, Senegal, South Sudan and Tunisia.
