The parties to the conflict in Sudan may declare a ceasefire after the visits to Libya before the start of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, acting Foreign Minister for Libya's Government of National Unity, Taher Al-Baour, told Sputnik.
"The parties agreed that it is necessary to declare a ceasefire and start the delivery of humanitarian aid. I hope that this will be announced in the next two days before the month of Ramadan. We are trying to make it [the ceasefire] come before Ramadan," Al-Baour said, adding that Libya could help solve the crisis in Sudan or stop the violence in the country.
Libya does not have a clear initiative to resolve the crisis in Sudan, the official said, adding that political initiatives may appear after the ceasefire.
