The neocolonial practices of the West are one of the main causes of instability and economic underdevelopment in the African countries, the President of the Central African Republic (CAR), Faustin Archange Touadera, said at the opening of the Forum of Supporters of the Struggle Against Modern Practices of Neo-colonialism "For the Freedom of Nations."
The time has come to break the shackles of neocolonialism in the world, the time has come to put an end to this ideology, he declared.
According to the leader, the process of gaining full independence of Africa is very difficult. It is necessary to develop an interference-free system of relations in the world, Touadera added.
He said that, although, today there are no colonies officially, colonialism has changed its strategy and its image, and neocolonialism has emerged. The president stressed that most of the developing countries and the CAR, in particular, face manifestations of Western neocolonialism.
This was also stated by the Russian President Vladimir Putin, who noted in his address to the participants of the forum that the world still sees "aggressive manifestations [of neocolonialism] today in the attempts of the collective West to maintain its dominance and supremacy by any means."
The newly established forum, which is taking place in Moscow, was created on the initiative of the All-Russian political party "United Russia."
