Star of the TV series "Friends" Matthew Perry died by accident due to “acute effects of ketamine,” the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner said in a press release.
“The County of Los Angeles Department of Medical Examiner determined the cause of death for 54-year-old actor Matthew Langford Perry as the acute effects of ketamine,” the release said on Friday.
Drowning, coronary artery disease, and the effects of buprenorphine for treating opioid use disorder are listed as contributing factors in Perry’s death, the release said.
Ketamine is usually used as a treatment for depression and pain management, and as a recreational drug. In August, the New York Times reported that Elon Musk used this drug and his use of this drug has increased in recent years.
