MOSCOW (Sputnik) - Canadian-American actor and screenwriter, Matthew Perry became famous for playing Chandler Bing on the renowned situation comedy series Friends, aired in 1994-2004. According to media, in the late 1990s - early 2000s, the actor struggled with drug and alcohol addiction, for which he entered a rehab program in 2001.
American-Canadian actor Matthew Perry from the US TV sitcom "Friends" has died at 54 after an apparent drowning, media reported, citing law enforcement sources.
According to the report, the actor was found Saturday at his home near the US city of Los Angeles after first-responders rushed over on a call for cardiac arrest.
Perry was found in a jacuzzi at his home. No drugs were found at the scene and there was no foul play involved, the sources said.
