Burkina Faso and Iran signed on Saturday a memorandum of understanding (MoU) and eight cooperation documents in various fields, including economy, construction and exports, Iranian news agency Tasnim reported.

The agreements were concluded at the meeting of the first Joint Economic Commission of Iran and Burkina Faso in the capital of the African country, Ouagadougou, the outlet noted. The Iranian delegation was headed by the country's Minister of Cooperatives, Labour and Social Welfare, Seyed Sowlat Mortazavi, the media revealed.
Mortazavi expressed hope that exchange of these documents will facilitate reinforcement of the partnership between the two states, including in the fields of pharmaceutical, technology and engineering, according to the news agency.
"We will witness a considerable increase in the export of pharmaceuticals and technical and engineering services to this African country," he was quoted by the media as saying.
