The Big Gastronomic Festival, which will be attended by about 40 restaurants in St. Petersburg, will become part of the Russia–Africa Forum, said Ekaterina Ivanova, head of the Creative Projects Directorate of the Roscongress Foundation.
"A large gastronomic festival will be held within the framework of the forum. About 40 restaurants of St. Petersburg will take part in it, the menu of which will feature sets of 3-4 African dishes," Ivanova said at a press conference dedicated to the cultural program of the forum.
St. Petersburg chefs will present their vision of African cuisine. Residents and guests of the city will also be able to taste dishes created by African chefs.
The gastronomic festival will be part of the cultural program of the Russia–Africa forum, the main program of which will be held in St. Petersburg on July 27-28. However, the cultural program will continue on July 29. On that day, the Rhythms of Africa festival will be held on Moscow Square.
