The armed forces of Sudan confiscated a shipment of weapons intended for the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in the Red Sea province in the east of the country, media report, citing a source in the Sudanese army.
"We have confiscated weapons and ammunition from a foreign country in the Red Sea province in the east of the country," the source said.
According to the source, groups that interact with the RSF to supply them with weapons from outside Sudan were detained.
In Sudan, fighting has been taking place since April 15 between the RSF under Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo and the Sudan Armed Forces. The opposing forces are exchanging contradictory statements about successes in combat operations and control over objects, having launched a large-scale information war in the media and social networks.
