Libya Developing Emergency Economic Recovery Plan Through 2032: Country’s Official
The initiative will include a state budget for 2027 and a broader economic program covering 2027–2032, Ahmed Abreidan, head of Libya’s National Planning Council, told Sputnik.
Key steps, according to the plan:
A team of Libyan academics and experts will develop the economic program under the council’s supervision.
The draft budget is expected to be completed by the end of December, with legislative approval targeted for January or February 2027.
Libya’s rival governments complicate efforts to adopt a unified budget, Abreidan added, expressing hope that political forces would overcome their disagreements and work together to address the economic crisis.
