Egypt, Sudan Sign Water Infrastructure Reconstruction Deal: Egyptian FM
Egypt and Sudan have signed a memorandum of understanding to restore water facilities damaged by Sudan’s ongoing conflict and develop new projects during the third round of bilateral ministerial consultations, Egypt’s Foreign Ministry announced.
Key areas of cooperation:
◼Rehabilitating war-damaged water infrastructure.
◼Strengthening flood protection and developing rainwater harvesting projects.
◼Installing solar-powered drinking water stations.
◼Providing technical training to improve Sudan’s water management capabilities.
The agreement forms part of the Egyptian Initiative for the Development of Nile Basin Countries and aims to improve access to clean water while supporting Sudan’s recovery and reconstruction.
