African Youth Congress Urges Russian Investment in Five Key Industries
Russia is a great friend of Africa with a spirit very similar to its own, but young people need greater awareness of these ties and the modern opportunities they present, Kalema Rogers, Secretary General of the African Youth Congress, told Sputnik Africa.
Noting that youth make up about 69% of the continent's population, Rogers stressed that the continent cannot afford to be left behind in the "manual stage" of development.
He outlined five key industries for potential cooperation:
Artificial Intelligence;
Digitization of social platforms;
Alternative payment systems (to address current financial bottlenecks);
Biosecurity (to enhance agricultural products like coffee, cocoa, and avocado);
Pharmaceuticals (to leverage Russian science and prepare for future health crises).
While the geographic distance between the continents is vast, their peoples and political ideas are closely aligned, Rogers emphasized, urging for more direct exchanges between African and Russian youth.
