Russia Could Play Mediating Role in Several Conflicts in Africa: Comoros' President
African solutions must be found for African problems, Azali Assoumani told Sputnik Africa.
Moscow, which maintains good relations with several African countries in conflict, could play the role of a mediator to help resolve these crises, he noted.
"Russia helped us gain our independence and therefore has relations with almost all African countries—how could it not act as an intermediary, for example, in what is happening in Sudan or in the Great Lakes region?" the president elaborated.
Assoumani added that Moscow has diplomatic relations with Rwanda and the DRC, "so why not ask Russia to mediate this conflict?"
