Russia's Rosatom to Assist Rwanda in Building Nuclear Infrastructure: CEO
At the third Russia-Africa Summit, Rosatom and the Rwanda Atomic Energy Board signed a memorandum to jointly assess and develop the country's nuclear infrastructure in line with IAEA standards, the Russian state corporation said.
Rosatom's CEO Alexey Likhachev noted that this comprehensive partnership includes collaborative work on:
🟠small modular nuclear power plants;
🟠the creation of a Center for Nuclear Science and Technology;
🟠the training of national personnel.
To support these initiatives, 102 Rwandan students are currently studying at Russian universities under the corporation's quotas, he added.
According to Likhachev, this new agreement will help Rwanda establish a solid foundation for utilizing peaceful nuclear energy to advance its energy, science, and economic sectors.
